"What if......"

A few months ago I read a book titled Beyond the Sky and the Earth, by Jamie Zeppa. It chronicles her journey into Bhutan as an English teacher, and the resulting love affair with the people of Bhutan as well as the country itself. Highly recommended for anyone who likes travel books.Check out a review here I'm adding this information because if it wasn't for this book, which I came across after about an hour of wandering around in Borders looking for something new, I wouldn't be preparing for this adventure. (Is this a metaphor for my life? Have I just been wandering around looking for something more substantial?) Sorry, but it's too early in the blog for that level of depth.
A few days after finishing the book, I came across a job posting - "Director of Golf, Himalayan Youth Golf Association". I had no choice but to apply. What else could I do? I certainly couldn't ignore life, which was urging me to go to that part of the world. And I certainly couldn't stay put, and wonder "what if" I didn't apply for the position.
I'll get into more detail about the adventure/job in later posts. For now though, know that I leave sometime in October, will be living in Kathmandu, and I won't have to answer the "what if" question going forward. This is kind of a test post, and a starting spot, so there will be more to follow....
